Hooray! After months of fund-raising, we have successfully raised just about enough money for the fountain installation!

June 2005 -- After months of fund-raising and being awarded a Friedel Klussmann Grant from San Francisco Beautiful - D5DOG finally placed the order for our new water fountain in June 2005. This fountain will accommodate dogs and people on the Western side of the park. The new fountain design was chosen for it’s historical Victorian-era inspired design that complements the neighborhood’s historic architecture, the park and park lighting. The fountain will serve as a beautiful and functional addition to the park!

The Recreation and Parks Department plan to install the fountain in July 2005 and we hope the project will be completed before our Great Dogs in the Park Festival and CGC Test Day on August 6th.

The closest place we could get the fountain installed in the Dog Play Area was at the top of the park at the pathways closest to Hayes/Pierce Streets. We could not install it further inside the DPA or western side of the park because of the back-flow structure (the caged in equipment located near where the fountain will be installed). Unfortunately, we had to install the fountain on the east side of the back-flow or we'd have some serious water safety issues. Please refer to the below photo simulations to see where the fountain will be installed:
